THE IMAGE BEHIND THE LINE

The graphic tee.

Mirror selfie of the author wearing an olive graphic tee with a snake design.

The original photograph

One of the images referred to in “Postmortem ATTN:”

“Columbus Short North locker room,
a graphic tee, the greenish of my eyes”

I remembered taking this photograph in a locker room. The setting does not appear to be one. However, it definitely was taken in the Short North of Columbus, Ohio.

THE LINE, LITERALLY

Proof of the Proof

I meant it quite literally when I said, “The proof is in the woofs.”

A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR

The Official Best Photos of Myself.

This is one of the few poems I have written in my thirties. It is a satirical take on vanity and self-consciousness—especially within the gay community—and its central joke is that, when I die, one of my foremost concerns will be ensuring that everyone remembers I was hot.

But many a truth is spoken in jest. In all seriousness, if and when I die, please find attached the photos I would prefer to be used in the obituary, memorial, or funerary materials.
