At a vertex of Duboce Triangle.
Part of the poem unfolds around San Francisco's Duboce Triangle, where an otherwise ordinary New Year's morning became unusually memorable. The map situates the neighborhood. Beside it, an August 2016 Street View shows Wildcraft Espresso Bar at 2299 Market Street—the exact café where I had the sheep’s-milk cappuccino mentioned in the poem on that New Year’s morning, a little over ten years ago.

The Man Behind the Poem.
The beautiful passerby glimpsed that morning did not remain a stranger. Serendipitously, especially for a city as big as San Francisco, we caught one another's gaze a second time at the , and this time I did not walk the other way. He went on to become one of the most beautiful and meaningful experiences of my life.
