TRANSPARENCY
No artificial intelligence was used in any way to create, edit, or publish Clock Counting: Poems.
I wrote every poem entirely myself. None of the poems were drafted, revised, reviewed, or otherwise evaluated by AI. The cover illustration and the graphics within the book were created by a human illustrator whom I hired and paid a substantial sum.
Some artificial intelligence was used to assist with the French translations for Clock Counting: La poésie en anglais éclairée en français.
As a non-fluent French speaker, it would have been foolish for me to pretend that I could produce every French rendering unaided: I would inevitably have relied on translation tools, and artificial intelligence is not fundamentally different in that regard. I personally reviewed every translation through a long, iterative process, repeatedly refining wording, nuance, and explanatory detail to make the French as sound and faithful to the English as possible—not simply handing the manuscript to an automated translation tool.
This digital companion made heavy use of artificial intelligence.
AI did not determine what I wanted to say or decide what belonged here. The subject selection, personal reflections, and creative direction are mine. Artificial intelligence helped me turn these choices into the experience you see.
